Cookie Policy

This policy describes the use of cookies and local storage on transcrever.net.

Essential anonymous-session cookie

When you create or view a task, the service uses the transcrever_anon cookie. It contains a random, opaque identifier that lets us show only the tasks belonging to the same anonymous session.

The cookie:

• is required for the account-free flow to work;
• is sent only to this domain;
• uses the HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax protections;
• uses Secure when the connection is HTTPS;
• expires after at most 7 days.

In the database, the token is linked to the session only through its SHA-256 hash.

Login-session cookie

If you sign in with Google, an essential cookie keeps your session authenticated. It is sent only to this domain, uses the same protections as the anonymous cookie, and is removed when you sign out or when it expires.

Preferences in your browser

Your browser may store basic preferences, such as appearance. In the account area, the sidebar_state cookie remembers whether the sidebar is open or collapsed for up to 7 days. These preferences stay on your device and can be removed through your browser settings.

Usage measurement

Cloudflare Web Analytics measures page views and performance without cookies. Google Analytics loads by default and measures visited pages, the device, and interactions; it may create first-party analytics cookies, but Transcrever's product events do not send file names or transcript content.

Additional analytics providers, such as Microsoft Clarity, Umami, and Plausible, load only after you choose Allow analytics. Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage. You can reopen Cookie preferences in the footer to change it.

What we do not use

We do not use cookies for advertising, behavioral profiling, or cross-site tracking. If that use changes, we will update this policy and the applicable consent choices before activating it.

How to remove

You can delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings. Declining analytics prevents optional providers from loading in the future, but does not disable Google Analytics; to block it or remove analytics cookies that were already created, delete the site data for transcrever.net. Once the anonymous-session cookie is removed, the service can no longer recognize the tasks tied to the previous session, even if their retention period has not ended.
