Privacy Policy

Transcrever, operated under the name transcrever.net, converts audio and video files into text. This policy explains which data is processed when you use the service and how to contact us about privacy.

What data we process

• Uploaded file: the audio or video you choose to transcribe.
• Task data and result: optional vocabulary terms, text, time-stamped segments, automatic speaker labels, saved revisions, and TXT, DOCX, SRT, and VTT export files. A label distinguishes voices; it does not identify a participant by name.
• Anonymous session: an essential cookie contains a random, opaque identifier that separates your tasks from other visitors' tasks. In the database we store only the SHA-256 hash of that identifier, never the original token.
• Technical task data: file name and type, processed duration, transcription model, task states, quotas, and failure codes needed to operate and protect the service.

We do not sell files, transcripts, or personal data. transcrever.net does not use this content for advertising or to train its own models.

Why we use this data

We use the data strictly to receive the file, run the requested transcription, show the result, allow export and deletion, enforce the quota shown in the interface, and keep the service secure and reliable.

Processing takes place to deliver the service you requested, to protect the operation against abuse, and to meet legal obligations where applicable.

Transcription provider

Automatic transcription is processed by a specialized provider, which temporarily receives access to the file and optional vocabulary terms needed to generate the result. Once the result is persisted, transcrever.net immediately starts deleting the transcription record at the provider and retries the request on failure until deletion is confirmed.

This processing may take place in other countries and follows the provider's terms; under those terms, certain files may be used for model improvement, subject to exceptions or an opt-out. transcrever.net does not promise zero retention or that model-training use has been disabled. Do not upload content you are not authorized to have processed.

Account and subscription billing

Signing in with Google is optional. When you do, we receive your name, email, and profile picture to keep you signed in; authentication follows the Google privacy policy. Cross-device task history is available on Pro and Studio, but not on a Free account. If subscription checkout is available and you choose a paid plan, the payment provider shown at checkout processes the payment under its own terms. We do not store full card numbers; we keep only the plan status, billing period, and billing references needed to manage the subscription.

Abuse protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)

To protect the service against automated submissions, we use Cloudflare Turnstile in invisible mode when receiving tasks from visitors without an account. Turnstile evaluates technical browser signals to tell people apart from bots, without showing visual challenges and without using this data for advertising. Cloudflare's processing follows the Cloudflare Privacy Policy and the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Supplement.

How long we keep data

• Original file for a completed task: deletion is scheduled for 24 hours after completion. Failed and canceled tasks do not currently receive that automatic deadline; delete them manually if you do not want to keep them.
• Transcripts and subtitles: retained for 7 days for anonymous use and Free accounts, 30 days on Pro, and 90 days on Studio.
• Provider record: deletion starts right after the result is persisted and is tracked until confirmed; temporary copies follow the provider's published retention policy.
• Manual deletion: you can delete your task before these deadlines; the interface keeps the deletion state visible while pending steps complete.
• Saved revisions: changes confirmed in the editor remain with the task during its retention period and can be resumed after a refresh in the same browser. For anonymous use and Free accounts, we do not promise reopening on another device; cross-device history is available on Pro and Studio.

Cookies and local storage

We use essential cookies for the anonymous session and, if you sign in with Google, for the login session. The account area also uses sidebar_state for up to 7 days to remember whether the sidebar is open or collapsed, and preferences such as appearance may be stored locally. Cloudflare Web Analytics measures page views and performance without cookies. Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and other optional providers load only after your consent and may create first-party analytics cookies. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.

Your privacy rights

You can request confirmation of processing, access, correction, information about sharing, anonymization, portability, or deletion where applicable. Data protection laws in your region — such as the GDPR in the European Union and the United Kingdom, or the CCPA in California — may grant you these rights. Send your request to support@transcrever.net with the subject Privacy; we handle every request through the same channel, wherever you write from.

Security and limits

We apply anonymous-session access controls, private storage, and temporary URLs to reduce improper access. No transmission or storage is free of risk; do not upload material whose transcription you cannot authorize.
