When is a meeting transcript useful?

Teams with a meeting recording can find where a subject was discussed, check a participant's complete statement, and share the transcript after it has been reviewed.

The reviewed text can also be used as the source for preparing decisions, owners, and next steps in a separate document.

How should you prepare the recording?

Choose the file with the clearest voices, select the spoken language, and enable speaker separation. For a remote meeting, use the recording in which every participant can be heard.

If the room has echo or people are far from the microphone, note the most important subjects so that you can check those passages first.

Daily file limits are 10 without an account and 20 when using the Free allowance. Pro, Studio, and transcriptions using purchased minutes have no daily file-count limit; available minutes and per-file limits still apply.

What do you receive?

  • The conversation divided into editable passages.
  • Time ranges for returning to the matching point in the recording.
  • Voice labels that you can replace with participant names.
  • TXT, DOCX, SRT, or VTT generated after review.

Saved corrections remain available after a refresh in the same browser. Cross-device task history is available only on Pro and Studio.

How to review participants and important remarks

1. Identify the participants

Listen to the start of the meeting and rename each speaker label with the correct participant name.

2. Search for the main subjects

Look for projects, customers, numbers, deadlines, or internal terms and open the matching passages.

3. Check the recording

Listen again to anything that will be shared or used to record a decision. Correct the text and confirm who was speaking before downloading it.

How can you consult or share the transcript?

Download TXT for plain text or DOCX to keep working in a document editor. Use SRT or VTT if another system requires time ranges. Copy or share only passages you have checked against the recording.

A practical review example

For a project meeting, name the participants and search for the delivery name. Listen to the passages where the deadline and responsibilities were discussed, correct names and numbers, and only then use the text as a source for the team's record.

When does the recording need more attention?

Echo, an unstable connection, distant participants, and overlapping speech can hide words or assign a passage to the wrong speaker label. Compare important passages with the recording before sharing the text.

Questions about meeting transcription

Does Transcrever create meeting minutes?

Transcrever produces a transcript of what was said. Use the reviewed text as the source for writing the minutes, decisions, and owners.

Can I transcribe a long meeting?

That depends on your access: 10 minutes without an account, 30 minutes on Free, 3 hours on Pro, and 6 hours on Studio. If the recording is longer, trim the section you need or compare the plans before uploading.

Do participants appear with the correct name?

Not automatically. With speaker separation enabled, each voice gets a label. Listen to the start of the meeting, identify each participant, and rename the labels in the transcript editor before sharing the text.

What happens to the recording after transcription?

Once the transcription is complete, the uploaded file is deleted about 24 hours later. The transcript remains available for 7 days without an account and on Free, 30 days on Pro, and 90 days on Studio; download the reviewed TXT if you need to keep the meeting content.
