What is included in an SRT file?
SRT arranges the speech into numbered cues. Each cue contains a start time, an end time, and the text shown during that part of the video.
Every cue also includes a speaker label before its text. When several people are speaking, enable speaker separation, check the labels, and rename them before downloading the file.
You can rename a speaker throughout the transcript, change or remove the label on one passage, and check the result before downloading. When a passage has no label, its SRT cue contains only the subtitle text.
Which videos can I use?
Upload an MP4, MOV, or WebM with a playable audio track. The upload area shows your maximum file size. Maximum duration is 10 minutes without an account, 30 minutes on Free, 3 hours on Pro, and 6 hours on Studio.
Daily file limits are 10 without an account and 20 when using the Free allowance. Pro, Studio, and transcriptions using purchased minutes have no daily file-count limit; available minutes and per-file limits still apply.
Choose the language actually spoken. Before uploading, you can also add names, brands, and specialist terms as vocabulary hints. Hints guide recognition but do not guarantee spelling, so check every important term during review. If the video contains several people, enable speaker separation to create distinct labels.
How to generate an SRT file from a video
1. Upload the video
Choose the file, select the language being spoken, and add names or terms to the vocabulary when needed.
2. Correct the text
Open the transcript, play each passage, and correct names, punctuation, specialist terms, and speaker labels. Use find and replace to correct every exact occurrence of a repeated error at once.
3. Organize cues and timing
Change or remove one passage's speaker, split a long cue, merge adjacent passages from the same speaker, or delete content that should not be exported. You can also edit each passage's start and end times before downloading.
What should you check before exporting?
- Names of people, brands, places, and products.
- Numbers, acronyms, and technical words.
- Passages with music, sound effects, noise, or overlapping speech.
- Voice labels that should be replaced with the correct names.
- Cue boundaries and timing in the finished video.

How to download and use the SRT
1. Download the file
Export the SRT with your corrected text and time ranges. Saved corrections remain available after a refresh in the same browser. Cross-device task history is available only on Pro and Studio.
2. Import it and check the final video
Load the SRT into your video editor or publishing platform and play the finished version to check every subtitle. SRT is a separate file; font, color, placement, final synchronization, and applying the subtitles to the video are handled in that program.
The same reviewed task can also be downloaded as VTT for subtitles on compatible platforms, or as TXT and DOCX when you need the transcript as text.

Can I change subtitle times in Transcrever?
Yes. You can edit the start and end of each passage as long as the time ranges remain valid and in order. After importing the SRT, play the finished video in your editor or publishing platform to check synchronization.
Which languages can I generate subtitles for?
You can generate subtitles for speech in Brazilian Portuguese, English, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. Choose the language actually spoken in the video so the generated text matches the speech.
Can I change the subtitle font or color?
Subtitle appearance is set in the video editor or the platform where you publish the video. Download the SRT from Transcrever and adjust font, color, and placement in that program.
How long can I download the SRT?
The result and saved corrections remain available for 7 days without an account and on Free, 30 days on Pro, and 90 days on Studio. Without an account and on Free, reopen the task in the same browser; cross-device history is available on Pro and Studio.
