What kind of WAV can I upload?
Use the WAV containing the voices you want to transcribe. A recording exported from an editor can be large, so check both its size in MB and its duration before uploading.
If you only need an interview within a longer recording, export a copy of that interval. Keep the original and check the first and last words to avoid cutting through speech.
If participants have separate tracks, export a version in which all the voices you need are audible. Uploading just one track produces text from that recording only; separate files create separate tasks.
How to convert WAV to text
1. Select the language before uploading
First select the spoken language, then choose the file to start uploading.
2. Listen and correct the transcript
Open the completed transcript, play passages that need checking, and correct names, technical terms, and unclear words.
3. Download the format for your next step
Choose TXT for plain text or DOCX to keep working in a document editor. Use SRT or VTT when you need speech with time ranges. Saved corrections remain available after a refresh in the same browser; cross-device task history is available only on Pro and Studio.

What should you review before downloading?
Compare speech with the same WAV you uploaded. If you trimmed it first, timestamps refer to that copy rather than its position in the original recording. Check this before importing SRT into an editor.

Do I need to install an app?

What can I do if the WAV is over the limit?
The upload area shows your maximum file size. Maximum duration is 10 minutes without an account, 30 minutes on Free, 3 hours on Pro, and 6 hours on Studio. If the file exceeds the displayed limit, trim the section you need in an audio editor or compare the limits of the other plans before trying again.
For occasional work, you can also buy minutes without a subscription. Files paid with these minutes can be up to 3 hours and 1 GB, or 6 hours and 2 GB on Studio. Buying minutes keeps your current plan’s history and retention rules.
Daily file limits are 10 without an account and 20 when using the Free allowance. Pro, Studio, and transcriptions using purchased minutes have no daily file-count limit; available minutes and per-file limits still apply.
What happens to the WAV after I upload it?
Once the transcription is complete, the uploaded audio file is deleted about 24 hours later. The transcript remains available for 7 days without an account and on Free, 30 days on Pro, and 90 days on Studio; download the reviewed file to keep your corrections.
If the audio is M4A or MP3
Recordings made on an iPhone are usually saved as M4A, and many older files are MP3. The upload and review flow is the same for both formats.
