When is reading a WhatsApp message on a computer useful?

This flow helps when you are working on a computer, cannot listen at that moment, or need to search and copy information into another document.

It uses the file you saved. Availability inside WhatsApp Web can vary, but uploading to Transcrever does not require connecting your account.

How should you prepare the file for your computer?

Save or share the voice message as a file. If it is only on your phone, move the file to the computer through a method that preserves the original audio, then play it to confirm the beginning and end.

OGG and M4A are accepted. If the file will not open on the computer, save another copy from the phone instead of uploading a shortcut or conversation link.

Daily file limits are 10 without an account and 20 when using the Free allowance. Pro, Studio, and transcriptions using purchased minutes have no daily file-count limit; available minutes and per-file limits still apply.

What do you receive?

  • Text divided into editable passages.
  • Time ranges linked to the original audio.
  • Search and playback on your computer.
  • TXT, DOCX, SRT, or VTT download after review.

Saved corrections remain available after a refresh in the same browser. Cross-device history is available only on Pro and Studio.

How to review the message on your computer

1. Read the entire message

Confirm that the text starts and ends with the same topics as the saved audio.

2. Search for what you need

Look for names, numbers, dates, or work terms and open the corresponding passages.

3. Listen before copying

Play any passage that will be sent, quoted, or used in a decision. Correct the text before the next step.

How can you use the checked text?

Copy a reviewed passage into another conversation, download TXT for plain text, or use DOCX to continue in a document. SRT and VTT preserve speech with time ranges.

A practical review example

When you receive spoken instructions while working on a computer, search for the file name and date. Listen to those passages, correct what is needed, and copy only the instruction you have checked.

When should you save another copy?

If the file will not play, ends before the message, or has a size of zero, return to the phone and save the original audio again. Noise, low volume, and overlapping speech also require more checking.

Questions about WhatsApp Web audio

Does Transcrever open my WhatsApp Web conversation?

No. You save the message as a file and select that file for upload. Transcrever does not access your account or import a conversation link.

Can I upload OGG or M4A from my computer?

Yes. Both formats are accepted when they contain playable audio. Confirm that the file opens and contains the complete message before uploading.

How long can the audio be?

Maximum duration is 10 minutes without an account, 30 minutes on Free, 3 hours on Pro, and 6 hours on Studio. Use the limit for your access level.

Is the text saved after I close the page?

Saved edits survive a refresh in the same browser. The transcript remains available for 7 days without an account and on Free, 30 days on Pro, and 90 days on Studio; cross-device history requires Pro or Studio.
